中老鐵路于12月3日全線開通運營。中老鐵路全長1035公里，連接中國西南部云南省昆明市和老撾首都萬象，是中國“一帶一路”倡議與老撾“變陸鎖國為陸聯國”戰略對接的重要項目。

　　The China-Laos Railway, a landmark project connecting Kunming in southwest China's Yunnan province with the Laotian capital, Vientiane, begins operations on Dec 3. The 1,035-kilometer-long railway is a docking project between the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative and Laos' strategy to convert itself from a landlocked country to a land-linked hub.

　　中老鐵路是與中國鐵路網直接連通的國際鐵路，線路北起中國云南省昆明市，向南經中國玉溪、普洱、磨憨邊境口岸，再經老撾磨丁邊境口岸，最終到達老撾首都萬象，線路全長1035公里。開通運營后，加上口岸通關時間，旅客從昆明至萬象最快約10小時可達。

　　中老鐵路的開通運營，對密切中老兩國經濟社會和人文合作交流，加快建設中老經濟走廊、構建中老命運共同體，具有十分重要的意義。此外，作為泛亞鐵路的重要骨干，中老鐵路還將對中國—東盟自由貿易區、大湄公河次區域經濟合作、共建“一帶一路”，產生積極影響。
